DWUK Charity Work 2022
Donating and giving all that we can.
We have increased donations to local and global charities, holding an internal Christmas Jumper day for Save the Children as well as donating prizes and refreshments for raffles and fundraisers for local charities and events.
Thanet TAG Pet Rescue care for and re-home as many animals as they can in the local area. We were able to donate a big box of goodies for their Christmas raffle to raise money for the charity.
Team members from our Marketing department and Green Team visited the Broadstairs Town Shed which gives a place for older people to get together and participate in woodwork activities, combating loneliness and isolation. They were given a tour of the facilities and shown all the wonderful things the charity does. They were also invited to the Christmas fundraiser where DWUK donated cider for the volunteers to make mulled cider as well as prizes for their raffle hampers.
Louie’s Helping Hands aim to help and support local children with multi-sensory impairments and physical difficulties. The pupils at the Llewellyn School had a school production at the end of the year, where they also held a raffle to raise money for Louie’s Helping Hands that supports the school and the children. We headed over to donate some prizes to the cause.
Group Fitness with Naomi also held a fundraiser for the Make a Wish Foundation and we donated a big hamper for the raffle to raise money for this fantastic charity.
We donated a drinks hamper to the Alan Squirrel Renal Unit at The Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital. Each year in December they hold a Christmas raffle for their patients and with the money raised it is being incorporated back into the unit to provide comfort items and entertainment for their patients. A truly amazing team!
We also held our annual Golf Day and The Big Cat sanctuary joined us for an evening auction to help raise awareness for their work and to fundraise for their conservation programmes. James Hanaway, from The Big Cat Sanctuary, became the Master Auctioneer for the evening delivering great prizes, including tickets to the Grand Prix and an overnight stay at the luxurious Big Cat Sanctuary lodge, to purchase. The auction and a raffle that was running all day raised the phenomenal amount of £22,000 for the charity. See below for the charity celebrating this amazing feat.
Stay tuned as we move into 2023 and aim to help even more charities as much as we can. Watch this space!
