What should be behind your bar?

There is no denying that customers shop with the eyes. When choosing a spirit, they will scan the back bar and either be drawn to something familiar or something eye-catching. So instead of buying a spirit for the look of the bottle alone, or the well-known brand name, why don’t you pick a great looking bottle that contains a phenomenal product. Check out our list of six spirits that will catch the attention of any customer as well as WOW-ing them with a great taste.

Mermaid Gin uses an infusion of carefully selected botanicals including Juniper Berries, rock samphire that is hand-picked from the Island’s chalk cliffs and Boadicea hops grown at the famous Ventnor Botanic Garden. Along with English coriander seeds, fresh lemon zest, angelica root, liquorish root, orris root, elderflower and grains of paradise.

The elegant blue bottle is designed to be reused as a vase or decoration to reduce the waste of packaging.

A liqueur first created in the time of King Edward VII. The King became poorly one day and his doctor requested a warming drink be brought to him. This was that drink, now made by Berry Brothers and Rudd. It is unmistakably Ginger – a cloud of fresh natural ginger with a faint aura of zesty lemon swiftly entices the first sip.

The bottle was recently updated to the beautiful ombre of yellow to orange, extremely eye-catching on a busy bar shelf, reflecting the refreshing taste of ginger inside the bottle.

The variety and provenance of their barley shapes the spirit every year. Each batch of the Classic Laddie will, by nature, be unique and subtly different, but it is a classic, floral and elegant Bruichladdich house style.

The modern bottle perfectly conceals this whiskey to make it look unlike any other whisky on the shelf. It is simple, yet effective.

St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur is a sublime liqueur created with wild, handpicked elderflowers and made in the traditional French style, using a process that has existed for centuries. The sublime taste hints at pear, peach and grapefruit creating an extraordinary flavour unknown in other liqueur brands. The crisp melange of flavours are as subtle and delicate as they are captivating.

This bottle has a strong design with a 1920s Art Deco style label and shape. It proudly stands taller than most bottles, dominating any bar.

The first 2022 spring seasonal release from Nc’nean Distillery. The single malt has been made with a combination of three yeast varieties, including one that is commonly used to produce rum. This blend of yeast has created notes of tropical fruit and honeycomb throughout the palate.

The bottle is wider and shorter than most, so a great choice to stand at the front of the bar shelf. The floral design and striking dark colours really reel customers in.

The botanist is a gin of layered complexity. A progressive exploration of the botanical heritage of our isle of islay. Nine classic gin botanicals are augmented by 22 local herbs and flowers, foraged responsibly and by hand from the hills, shores and bogs of this fertile hebridean island by our own team of botanical scientists.

The cylindrical bottle has the Latin names of botanicals embossed on the bottle. On the minimalist sticker, the number 22 is expressed to show the number of Islay botanicals they used. Simplistic and classic.
