Serving Up Success: How to Ace Your Venue's Preparation for Wimbledon

Mon, 1 Jul 2024 – Sun, 14 Jul 2024

To maximize revenue for your restaurant, pub, or bar, a certain SW19 lawn tennis tournament could be the ace up your sleeve.

This world-renowned tournament not only draws in massive crowds but also played a pivotal role in boosting London’s post-pandemic recovery, injecting over £600 million into the capital’s economy alongside other major events.

Here are some ways to prepare for some premium tennis entertainment. Embrace the excitement and let Wimbledon serve up a grand slam for your business!

Prepare for Wimbledon: Adjust your opening hours

Normally close shop at 22:00? For Wimbledon fortnight, you might want to rethink those hours. Matches can stretch late into the evening, like the epic 2012 Murray vs. Baghdatis clash that wrapped up at 23:02!

The same goes for earlier matches, with outside courts starting at 11:00 and Centre Court action kicking off at 13:30. If you don’t show the matches your customers want to see in their entirety, they might head elsewhere – and getting them back could be a real challenge.

Prepare for Wimbledon: Make good use of outdoor space

Summer is beer garden season, and Wimbledon is the perfect time to make good use of this space. Invest in outdoor televisions so customers can enjoy the Great British Weather whilst sipping on your serves.

Prepare for Wimbledon: Advertising is key

A robust marketing strategy is key, and Wimbledon fortnight is no exception. This ensures that customers can find your business and make it part of their plans. Social media is a great place to start—engage, promote, and interact with your current and potential customers.

Social media is also perfect for showcasing any summer specials you have. Need some inspiration? Check out our Wimbledon cocktail special ideas to get you started!
