What does artisanal mean?
Artisanal is used to describe products that are made with careful and thorough traditional methods to maintain the high-quality and distinctive taste of the product. The word is often misused in the modern day as few truly adhere to the true meaning of the word. J.J. Whitley, however, has eight generations of tradition and distillation heritage to prove their artisanal roots.
John James Whitley developed a curiosity for finding fine ingredients from a young age in the late eighteenth century. He spent many hours exploring and discovering expansive gardens and natural hedgerows full of wild vegetation while living among the Daresbury countryside. This inherent love for nature strengthened his passion and work as a master distiller later in life.
To this day, John’s thirst for original flavour combinations and unique infusions lives on in the J.J. Whitley name.
